My husband and I went to celebrate bump’s 20 week scan by going for some coffee and breakfast at The Sum of Us, a fairly new cafe at the back of the Sheraton Grand Hotel on SZR opposite the Dubai World Trade Centre.

We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who talked us through the coffees on offer and the menu. I have been limiting my caffeine intake at the moment and so tend to drink decaf coffee and unfortunately they didn’t offer this. However, they did offer to do a single shot weaker coffee for me.  My husband loved the coffee and his only complaint was the size of the cups. He would have preferred one large coffee but instead had to order two coffees as there was no option to ‘go large’. He said he could easily have had a third but felt it was a little excessive.

Casual dining

I had smoked salmon and poached eggs on a bagel with asparagus and my husband had scrambled eggs with avocado on toast. We both agreed that our breakfasts were very tasty and beautifully presented.

There was also a very tempting bakery and if I wasn’t so full I could have easily had a few pastries  too.

All in all I would give The Sum Of Us a well deserved 8.5/10.
